This proposal was created in response to an open design competition for a Peace Garden intended "“"to establish a major symbolic expression on behalf of peace in Washington, D.C., one which will inspire and involve its visitors in the contemplation and pursuit of peace."”"
The proposed site was 12 acres at Hains Point, the southern tip of East Potomac Park, at the confluence of the Potomac and the Acacostia Rivers.
